News: As of a few days ago, I managed to break my Flip camera, the one I use to record all my dashcam clips. While it was plugged into the computer, I managed to bump it hard enough to sever the USB connection arm on the side of the camera, making it unable to plug into the computer and useless for collecting dashcam clips. At the time, I had 30+ beautiful captures (I've used my horn probably 20 times this week!), and they are currently stuck inside my camera, desperately trying to find a way onto my Youtube account. On Tuesday, I went down to a camera store to have them fix it. They wanted 63 dollars....I only paid 60 for the camera. So on Wednesday, I took a trek out to NE Portland to a little tech shop. After some beastie parallel parking on my part, I went into the store. The nice guy behind the counter, obviously stoned, let me know that their guy that works on handhelds would take a look on Thursday or Friday and let me know how much it costs. I opted for ZERO cosmetic work (I quote myself, "If you can fix it with duct tape and string, that'd be awesome."), so hopefully it will be cheaper than 63 dollars. I'm still awaiting their call (it's 2:00am Friday right now). I'd be willing to pay up to 30 or so, as it's unlikely I'll find another Flip camera for the same great price. They retail for almost 300 dollars on Amazon -- what a rip off! Anyway, in the mean time, I've been using my cell phone camera as my primary dashcam.
